The treatment steels are alloyed or un-alloyed machine production steels suitable for hardening due to their chemical composition and properties, in particular the amount of carbon, demonstrating a high density at a certain tensile resistance after the treatment. 

The treatment itself is described as the entirety of the hardening process first followed by an annealing process to impart high density to the steel part as a result thereof. Due to the superior mechanical characteristics gained as a result of the treatment process, the treatment steels are used in a wide range of applications including the production of many parts such as various machinery and motor parts, forged parts, various bolts, nuts and studs, crank shafts, axles, control and drive components, piston arms, various shafts and gears etc. Therefore, the treatment steels are the most produced and used steels second only to the construction and un-alloyed steels.

Selecting the appropriate treatment steel and the application of the proper wet process requires great care and experience. Obtaining good results from the treatment (i.e. obtaining the desired density and  hardness) is closely associated with the cleanness of the internal structure of the steel used.

The cleaning of the internal structure is the operation of purifying the molten steel from various gases (hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen) dissolved inside the steel and cleaning out the sulphur oxide inclusions. ASİL ÇELİK places the importance required for the structural cleanness of the varieties at the treatment steel quality it produces, in the same way as all the other qualities included in its production schedule. The steels in this group are categorized as un-alloyed, low-alloy and high-alloy. The un-alloyed types are expressed as production steel in the market as well.

This group of steels makes up the most important segment of the MACHINE-production steels. This type of steels are used for the production of fastening elements, axle shafts and gears in general,

The steels in this group are categorized as low, medium or highly temperable depending on their ability to harden.
